Travel Diary: Hiking Chimney Top in West Virginia

Image
Recently I was  looking for ways to honor one of my friends. He loved hiking, so my husband and I decided to complete a hike in his memory. While in previous years my husband and I hiked in Maine ,  Yosemite National Park , and even Greece , this wo uld be our first hike of 2022.  We scoured the mid-Atlantic region for a hike that would be worthy of our objective and decided upon Chimney Top in West Virginia. So we decided to drive to West Virginia after work on Friday, complete the hike Saturday morning, and drive back to Virginia afterwards.

Good morning! Today's post is about my trip to Manchester, Vermont, in October 2020 -- exactly 2 years ago today.

Travel Diary: London, England (including a Harry Potter Tour for Muggles)

Image
Happy Thursday! In 2017, I visited Europe for the first time ever. I tagged along on a girlfriend's trip around Portugal for a week, then I flew to London to meet up with my then-boyfriend (now-husband!) for London, Rome , and Paris . Today I am finishing the last travel diary of the trip, with London!

Travel Diary: 24 Hours in Memphis, Tennessee

Good morning! Since the United States recently celebrated the Constitution on September 17, I wanted to share my trip last year to Memphis, Tennessee, over a similar holiday (Independence Day on July 4).

Travel Diary: Bar Harbor, Maine to Hike Precipice Trail in Acadia National Park

I honestly don't know why it's taken me so long to recap our 2020 trip to Maine because Maine is one of my favorite  states in the U.S. I grew up visiting my father's family in Island Falls during the summer, and during college I learned to snowboard at Sunday River ski resort in Newry.

Travel Diary: One Day at Universal Orlando Resort (with the Wizarding World of Harry Potter)

Image
In my opinion, there's no better time to visit Universal Studios -- and specifically the Wizarding World of Harry Potter -- than the winter holiday season. So I was thrilled when my husband and I were able to stop by Orlando on our road trip from Virginia to visit my parents in Florida over Christmas! I've mentioned in my Sydney  and Disney travel diaries how much I love Christmas time; it is truly my favorite time of the year. I love evergreens, snow, and twinkle lights so much that I even had a December wedding which used the colors of green, white, and gold. And as a Catholic, I love the hope and joy surrounding the holiday. So I just think every experience is enhanced in December... and Universal Studios is no exception!
